this isn’t my normal type of post, but this is something i am super proud of. i have always been athletic. played all kinds of sports when i was young... 🏑 field hockey and lacrosse in high school ⛷ skiing most of my life ⛰ many years of mountain biking, rock climbing, rollerblading, and hiking in my 20’s in my early 30’s life changed...i was finally in a career i loved (interior design) and then i had kids. my athletic pursuits slowed down for a few years...until i found stroller strides when i decided to stay home with my kiddos. exercising multiple days a week and getting out of the house to talk to adults was amazing...and i was in some of the best shape of my life! i started running (3-6 miles 3/4 times a week) and loved what it was doing for me. eventually, the kids outgrew stroller strides (it would have been weird do me to go without them) and we joined a local health club. i kept running, took some classes and was in pretty good shape...until a few years ago. (like, when i turned 40 😬) i found lots of excuses to not exercise...i sprained my ankle, my running partner (#grandriverodyssey) got too old to run. poor me. last year i was tired of feeling bad and really dedicated some time to yoga, which has been so amazing. however, i was ready to add some more strength to my routine. so, @rctaddeo and i started working with a personal trainer (@spdood) to learn about kettlebell training. i was hooked, and quickly started taking a class at our health club that she and @zachsweatpants_sfg teach. (you can learn more about the class @snzkxt ) at any rate, it’s been 2 months since i started and i feel so much stronger. thank you @spdood and @zachsweatpants_sfg ! i also have to thank my friend @alischubert for recruiting me for the class. it’s been awesome!! so, if you are still reading, don’t be afraid to try something new. and, don’t ever stop trying new things. i’m about ready to start running with a new running partner (#grandriverrainbow) we just need to work out a few training issues. #strongfirst
